Detailed Heliopolis Map

Because of space considerations the scanning of the above map does not show the airport "aerodrome" built in 1909 to the east of Heliopolis. It was there that the Heliopolis Committee of Aviation, with the close participation of the Aeroclub of France, celebrated “la Grand Semaine de L’Aviation” in Egypt, 6-13 February 1910. The two most important trophies on this occasion were the Grand Prix d’Egypte and the Prix du Baron Empain.
